from The Awakening by Kate Chopin

This is how my outside reading nook feels to me --- a mystery of butterflies and quiet. My spot is there but isn't. It's invisible but still has extra chairs, welcoming visitors. It's going to get better and better as the weather cools to a mild kiss. The shade of the pecan tree, as sunset reinvents itself behind closed doors, is a gift. What will the outfit be? Pink, purple, grey? Shoeless, of course. And it won't be worn for long. The eucalyptus bath (and sleep) awaits. Why am I always so tired so early these days?
